How accurate are Appraisy's appraisals?
Appraisy is informed but not infallible. Recommendations are generated by an AI model that's been instructed on retail return policies, marketplace dynamics, and resale economics. Estimates reflect general market patterns rather than guarantees. For high-stakes decisions ($500+ items, time-sensitive return windows, items with niche resale markets), we recommend treating Appraisy as a strong starting point and verifying specifics with the retailer or platform before acting.
What happens to my photos after I take them?
Photos are sent to our backend, forwarded to our AI provider for analysis, and discarded once the appraisal completes. We do not retain copies on our servers. The appraisal result (with a copy of the photo for your reference) is stored only on your device. Full details in our Privacy Policy.
How do I cancel my Plus subscription?
Open the Settings app on your iPhone, tap your name at the top, tap Subscriptions, tap Appraisy Plus, then tap Cancel Subscription. You can also reach this from inside Appraisy: Manage tab → tap your subscription row. Canceling stops future renewals; you keep Plus until the end of your paid period.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. Submit a request at reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple's standard refund policy applies. If you have an exceptional case, email support@fivetoninelabs.com and we'll see what we can do.
Why does the free tier limit me to 5 appraisals per month?
Each appraisal sends data to a paid AI service that bills us per request. The free tier covers our cost while letting you try the product before deciding if it's worth subscribing. The 5/month limit resets at the start of each calendar month.
Is there an Android version?
Not yet. Appraisy is iOS-only at launch. Android is on the roadmap if iOS demand justifies the build effort. Sign up for launch alerts via the App Store wishlist (and we'll work on a proper email list before the Android beta).
The recommendation seems wrong. What should I do?
Two things help. First, try the Refine feature (Plus only) — it lets you add new context (the actual return policy, comparable listings you've seen, condition details) and re-run the analysis without using a new appraisal slot. Second, use the result as a starting point rather than the final word. Resale values especially can vary widely with timing, condition, and platform reach. Trust your judgment when local information contradicts the model.
Will Appraisy work for [my specific item type]?
The model knows mainstream consumer categories well — electronics, apparel, home goods, kitchen gear, sporting equipment, books, toys, common collectibles. It struggles with high-end vintage, rare collectibles, custom or handmade items, items where condition is highly subjective, and anything where price depends heavily on niche communities (specific watch models, audiophile gear, niche trading cards, etc.). For those, treat the appraisal as a directional check, not a number to bet on.
How do I delete my data?
Delete the app from your iPhone — that removes all locally-stored appraisal history immediately. Your device identifier rolls out of our retention window within 90 days. To delete subscription records or confirm complete deletion, email privacy@fivetoninelabs.com.
I found a bug. Where do I report it?
Email support@fivetoninelabs.com with what happened, what you expected, and what device/iOS version you're on. Screenshots help. We log crashes automatically via Sentry, but specific user reports often surface things logs miss.
